The Plant Centre is attractively located within the gardens and offers a good selection of hardy plants, many of which are grown at our own nursery.
The timber Woodside Garden Centre stocks a range of practical gardening items such as seeds, seasonal bulbs, garden tools, gloves, and string as well as a superb range of wild bird food and feeders.
Also located in this area is the grocery shop.
The Plant Centre and Garden Shop is currently manned by myself (Emma), with help from experienced gardener Laura, and sometimes from husband Stephen, so we are able to help with your purchases and offer sensible advice.
We always have in stock a wide range of plants, depending on the season. This will include:
- Annual bedding plants, both winter and summer
- trees and shrubs
- fruit trees
- vegetable plants
- herbaceous perennials
- potted bulbs
We also have a good range of bulbs and vegetable seeds for sale.
Compost, fertilisers and other gardening staples
We stock a fullrange of composts, fertilisers, chemicals and organic products depending on the seasons. This included Growmore, bone meal , organic chicken manure pellets, tomato food, liquid fertilisers, slug pellets, including orgainic options, vermiculite, Perlite, twine, string, gardening gloves secateurs and other tools, plant labels, marker pens, seed trays and other pots.
From 5th April the plant centre and grocery shop will be open daily from 9:00am to 5:00pm. The Tea Room is now open for eating in and there is plenty of space outside too. Booking is recommended for indoors - please phone 01835 830315 to book.

We work hard to source sustainable products and are pleased that in 2021 you will have the option of bamboo pots and seed trays, which are compostable.

We stock pots and planters from the Errington Reay and Mims salt glazed, elemental and courtyard ranges. We also have a range of Green man wall plaques and other garden ornaments.
We are very pleased to have an excellent range of wildlife products, including nesting puches, bee habitats, bird boxes and bug hotels. We also have our own range of bird fooded, which have been develped with Red Barn. These include the Woodside No Grow Wild Bird Seed, Woodside 2Honeysuckle" Mix and Woodside Blue Tit Feast.
Loyalty Card Scheme
We run our own Loyalty Card scheme, which is free to join and has no catches. Simply collect points on purchases over £10 in the Plant Centre shop, and once you have reached 10 points you can enjoy a complimentary cup of tea or coffee and a traybake (Monday to Fridays only, excluding bank holidays) in the Birdhouse Tearoom (please note that there are current limits on this due to Coronovirus restrictions). Just ask in the Plant Centre shop to sign up. In addition, if you have an email address we can contact you so you can enjoy exclusive discounts and offers.
