Plant Centre

vegetable plants

The Plant Centre is attractively located within the gardens and offers a good selection of hardy plants, all sourced from UK growers.

The Plant Centre Shop stocks a range of practical gardening items such as seeds, seasonal bulbs, garden tools, gloves, and string as well as a superb range of wild bird food and feeders. New for 2021 is our aquatics section offering everything you need for ponds and water gardening.

Also located in this area is the grocery shop.

The Plant Centre and Garden Shop is usually manned by owners Emma & Stephen, with lots of help from our enthusiastic and knowledgeable team, so we are able to help with your purchases and offer sensible advice.

Plants

We always have in stock a wide range of plants, depending on the season. This will include:

  • Annual bedding plants, both winter and summer
  • trees and shrubs
  • fruit trees

  • herbaceous perennials
  • alpines

We also have a good range of seasonal bulbs and vegetable seeds for sale.

Compost, fertilisers and other gardening staples

We stock a full range of composts, fertilisers, chemicals and organic products depending on the seasons. We are proud to stock Dalefoot compost, sustainably and organically produced in the Lake District using sheep's fleece.

We also have a full range of gardening accessories and tools. We now offer a tool-sharpening service.

Garden Ornaments

We stock pots and planters from the Errington Reay and Mims salt glazed, elemental and courtyard ranges. We also have a range of Green man wall plaques, statues and bird baths.

Wildlife Products

We are very pleased to have an excellent range of wildlife products, including nesting pouches, bee habitats, bird boxes and bug hotels. We also stock a large range of wild bird food and feeders to help attract birds to your garden.

How to Get in Touch

We love meeting people and caring for our plants, but we are not so keen on sitting in the office and working  on a computer. Because of our lovely woodland setting internet signals are intermittent, so emails and social media requests may go un-answered. Please phone us during opening hours on 01835 830315 for all enquiries.
