Plant Centre

vegetable plants

The Plant Centre is attractively located within the gardens and offers a good selection of hardy plants, many of which are grown at our own nursery.

The timber Woodside Garden Centre stocks a range of practical gardening items such as seeds, seasonal bulbs, garden tools, gloves, and string as well as a superb range of wild bird food and feeders.

Also located in this area is the grocery shop.

The Plant Centre and Garden Shop is currently manned by myself (Emma), with help from experienced gardener Laura, and sometimes from husband Stephen, so we are able to help with your purchases and offer sensible advice.

We always have in stock a wide range of plants, depending on the season. This will include:

  • Annual bedding plants, both winter and summer
  • trees and shrubs
  • fruit trees
  • vegetable plants
  • herbaceous perennials
  • alpines
  • potted bulbs

We also have a good range of bulbs and vegetable seeds for sale.

Compost, fertilisers and other gardening staples

We stock a fullrange of composts, fertilisers, chemicals and organic products depending on the seasons. This included Growmore, bone meal , organic chicken manure pellets, tomato food, liquid fertilisers, slug pellets, including orgainic options, vermiculite, Perlite, twine, string, gardening gloves secateurs and other tools, plant labels, marker pens, seed trays and other pots.

Opening Times

The plant centre and grocery shop will be open daily from 9:00am to 5:00pm until the end of June. The Tea Room is open daily 10:00am to 5:00pm. Booking is recommended for indoors - please phone 01835 830315.

As Stephen and I are busy most of the time serving customers, offering advice and watering, we are not able to man our office, so please call on 01835 830315 for all bookings and general enquiries. Until we can master the technique of human cloning, emails may go unanswered for several days, and we cannot answer queries on social media as we are busy doing other things!

Due to rapid changes in legislation our website doesn't always reflect up-to-the-minute changes.
